Almost At The End Of My "Semester"

I am almost there I cant see it now... MORE WORK.

Anyways, I am finishing up my section on solution chemistry and after this I have two more lessons in chemistry and three more in physics! Can you believe it?

Today I registered for the FALL semester of organic. I am pretty nervous about the class. I need an A!!!!! DAMMIT!!! Actually I need two A's.

Im going to make Easter lollipops to send to relatives today, so I guess I better hurry up on that and get back to studying.

Not In The Best Mood

Today I feel bummed. Not only because I cant seem to work fast enough in my studies but because I have finally figured out all the schools I have a shot with, and there arent many. My best chance is with the state school here, but who knows if I am competitive or not.

So here is my new list in order of preference:

University of Arizona
University of Texas at El Paso (maybe a couple other Texas schools)
Morehouse School of Medicine
University of Central Florida
University of Tennessee
(Insert Saba University here, but unsure of how to get a loan)
Ross University
American University of the Carribean
Albert Einstein University
George Washington University
Stoneybrook
University of Chicago
University of Pittsburgh

So thats it. I do hope to get into U of A. I would want to do the dual degree. Sigh. The only good news is that AUC has clinical rotations in ENGLAND and that sounds really cool. I kept thinking about that option.

Now its back to work on my studies. I am finishing up electromagnetism and will be moving on to solution chemsitry hopefully today. Ive also been lifting weights again. I was sore a bit but now Im not. Hopefully I can make some more muscle! I need to burn some fat off of my body.

Only a litle more than two months until organic chemistry! IEEE!

Sigh

As I finish a few more physics topics, I feel less and less likely that I will get into the school I want to get into. Not that I cant do physics, its more like I just wont convince them that I am a good candidate. Then comes the school dilemma. I have such a tiny list (as you can see from the side bar) that I dont know if any of them will take me. Sigh, just like the title.

The most pressing issue with schools is the letters of recommendation requirements. I would have had plenty of letters if the teachers that I chose didnt try to grab m boobies or call me incessently and try to wisk me away to New Hampshire even though he was/is married. WTF. I wasnt going to suck balls just to get a letter. So that is my major shortcoming of my application. I can only apply to schools that will take letters of recommendation from just one professor (cuz I dont know if I will have two different ones for organic) and one from someone else and not only accept letters from pre-med committies. Thankfully, U of A is one that doesnt care if you get one two or three from a professor or some doctor you volunteered with. I have to go through the list of schools again and see which schools fit my criteria. I have to add more to the list.

Then, I think I may have to go the DO route.

I know that many DO schools want you to have letters of recommendation from a DO, but Im sure not all of them do. I will have to go through that list as well and see which schools fit my criteria. SIGH.

Then there is the problem with SABA. See, Saba doesnt have the connections to get you a US government loan and thus you will have to use their lenders (which I read havent been very good lately) or find your own. I am not so sure my bank is going to lend me $100K to go to a foreign school. I guess we will see. I will see what my bank says.

On Its Last Legs

This may be one of the last entries from my VAIO. Yes, I think the vaio is about to kick the bucket and this time, it has a DNR. Sigh. I dont know what to replace it with if I dont wind up with another vaio.

TJs desktop is also getting to old. I think we will have to replace both of these computers!

Well, I am about to start on a new physics topic. I finished rate laws and equilibrium in chemistry yesterday. That was not fun. I see why I never really liked chemistry all that much. I don't think they will get all involved about rate laws on the MCAT so I don't have to know everything, thankfully. I just hope I can get it all done before my class starts. I am still deciding if I should study biology or writing/reading passage stuff while taking the class. I really want to get an A in orgo. I think if I get an A, I will get into U of A.

Ive also been selling some of my old stuff on ebay. Todays auction is my old pair of gucci sunglasses from 2000. They have a little over an hour to go and they made their way up to $15. I am pleased.

Ive also added a new link for "Robot Unicorn Attack" game. Its pretty fun. I am contemplating on buying the t-shirt and wearing it to school because it says "Chase your dreams... You will fail." LOL!! That is just awesome.

Well, I hope this computer can hold up a bit longer. Maybe I can trade it in at Sony. I think last time I checked about three years ago, it was only worth $20, pfft.

It Took All Day

But I got through my video on kinetics and equilibrium. ARGH!

So tomorrow is an all day marathon of kinetics problems. Ive been drinking iced tea to help give me a boost, but I think Im going to have to go back to coffee. Its just not powerful enough come 4pm.

I also wanted to start lifting again, but alas, I am VERY sore from all the yardwork I did on Monday with TJ. The yard looks awesome, but my legs are super sore.

Ive started working on my webpage! My goal this week is to complete a couple of pages, looks like in the travelogue section. I DO plan on finishing before I have to take the MCAT.

Speaking of MCAT, I am very nervous about my organic class. I need an A! If I get an A, I think I am good to get into the U of A (given I dont bomb my MCAT of course). Im going to have to tell my mother to send somekind of energy over here so I can get an A.

If you noticed, I put a link to Yves Rocher on the sidebar. I put that there because I am fond of their products, especially their products for sensitive skin. I think I have rosacea and I have been using their Active Sensitive products for about a week and have already noticed a difference. My face isnt as red as it was. Im looking and feeling a lot better about my skin.

Its time to pick up TJ, gotta dash!

I Tried!

I tried to changed the colors of this blog, but I really like the blue scheme. Oh well. I guess I will just change the links and pictures.

And you know what else? I am getting really tired of "buyers" on ebay trying to haggle me about the shipping costs. As, I once heard on a comedy skit "No haggle! The price you see is the price! Why would I put out the price, if that's not the price?"

Sigh. After this week, no more ebay!

I Hate Thermochemistry

My gosh this is turning out to be one very long chapter(s). I am almost done, thank goodness!!!

I am worried about organic chem. I really need to get an A in the class to show that I am capable. I just hope the teacher isnt a numbnuts. I also wonder if I will be able to study and take the MCAT while I am in class. I somehow think I wont be able to do that. I am thinking that I will have to take the MCAT in March or April 2011. I would be done with classes by then. And I think that I would also like to start on my volunteer services with the VA soon. Probably during the fall semester. I wonder if any doctors will let me work with them. I need recommendations from them. Im not sure if the professor I have will be good enough to write a recommendation but if he likes me enough, I dont see why not.

Now that things are getting busier, I wonder when I will schedule time to fix my webpages and this blog. I have ideas for the layout but when can I find time to do it? Maybe on the weekend while TJ is watching tv. Hm.

Well, I guess I better finish up this stinkin chapter. Im almost done with the cards (flashcards) for it then I will do some problems. If I have time I will start the next physics topic. Then I will have all day to go over physics topics tomorrow.

OH YEAH: I CANT WAIT FOR MY PACKAGES TO ARRIVE!! I WILL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT THEM WHEN THEY DO! HURRAH!!!

Phase 4 Coming Faster Than Expected.

So what I meant by "Im now a fighting artichoke" is that I stepped up my pace here and applied for the summer session at Scottsdale Community College to take organic chemistry! I must admit Im a bit intimidated, but I was with anatomy and look how that turned out! I just have to be positive, focus and I think I can do well.

Lion King and Thermochemistry

Wow, I sold most of stuff! I relisted one item that didnt sell and now its over $5. Good deal!

Anyway, Im trying to study thermodynamics now, but I got caught up on buying a orgo book and solutions manual. I want to be able to take the MCAT by the end of the summer but I realized that I should probably try to get goin on the orgo class this fall, even if it means that I haveto overlap the two. It shouldnt be a big deal I hope. I have no idea if I will get a seat in the MCAT test sites thsi year, but I suppose that I could take it all till next year if I am starting orgo this fall. I will go and visit the schools and see what they want in terms of transcripts. I think they owuld only need KCC because that shows I had regular chem. I dont think I need to send the CCNY transcript, what good will that do.

The next issue is which school to go to? Do I wait until the last minute AFTER I take MCAT and have to go to SCC because they have spring and summer session or should I just overlap the studies (if all goes well of course) and take the fall and spring semesters at MCC, which is practically down the road from where I live. If I overlap, then I can apply for the fall start of U of A and that would be good. If I wait, there is a chance I would have to wait another year to get to med school unless I just opt for Carribean school. I will have to discuss it with the hubby. I may opt to overlap.

Or perhaps I wont even be ready for the MCAT and I would need more time anyway and this would be faster regardless.

This also means that I need to put finishing the chem part of the studies into high gear. I am not going fast enough. I would need to get through the videos for orgo before I take the class. And get started on the bio. Actually finish the bio. UGH! okay calm down, you can do it. Sigh.

It will mean getting up everyday at 6am or 7am again to start on my work. I want to go faster and I am ready!

Tomorrow! Watch out thermodynamics/thermochemistry!!
