Finding Schools

That I have a greater chance than ZERO at!!

Now I have to go through the whole list of schools again to see which ones might not file my application in the round filing cabinet on first glance.

So the new order of things:
1)Finish bchem project
2)Finish the packet for ochem professor
3)Write to math professor about my score and when he should get the paperwork
4)Order all my transcripts
5)Finish my interview materials
6)Write my personal statement, etc
7)Finish ochem chapters!!! (maybe should be #2)
8)GMAT study schedule

But first, I must finish my enzymes project! I want to see if I can do that today. Its going to be long! Well, at least she seemed happy to write me a letter! I was like yay!

Okay enzymes time!

Did Not Score My Age

What a bummer!

I only scored a measly 26Q! (7P, 9V, 10B). Well, at least I know I can write essays. Let's see if my writing ability can win me a spot at U of A! Otherwise, hello Caribbean school! (I hope!!)

I do have good news: My current professor said she would write me a letter of recommendation! I am going to talk to her tomorrow about the letter and when I wake up, I will type up some info for her to get started. Obviously, she can't write everything until I decide which schools to apply to, but I think Hofstra is out. As are almost all the schools on the sidebar. I hope that my letter writers won't be too disappointed by my mediocre MCAT score.

Well, once the semester is over (in a few weeks), I will get started on my GMAT review. Hoo-ray more tests.

I still have on the list of to do:
2) Finish powerpoint for bchem
4) Personal essay
6) Send out recommender packs
7) Two work recommendations
8) Conclusions
9) GMAT Prep

Im also not sure if I should apply to that one DO school in Missouri which I am able to because they don't require a DO letter. Im just not sure if I should apply to a DO school just yet, especially when I can apply next year when I can actually have a DO letter. Hm don't know.

Well, in any case, Im not too surprised about my MCAT score. I guess it was right where it should be. I just hope it's right where it needs to be for U of A!

Wish me luck/pray for me!

MCAT Dawn

Tomorrow is the earliest I get back my MCAT scores! IEEE!

In other news, people in my ochem class are morons! The professor was annoyed today and was saying that her class isn't watered down and that she teaches a certain way, etc etc. You know, some people are just really stupid. They habe no idea what they have! If they want a slave driver and want someone to crack that whip, I know just the professor for them! I wish people would just shut up and study their book. The professor is giving us some breathing room and I am glad she is!

Well, I guess tomorrow I will check and see if my scores are in!!!!

And I will see if Im on my way to St. Martin.

Back To Work?

Sorta! Not quite working my darndest here, but it doesn't matter. I am still good at ochem! We had a "pop quiz" yesterday and I got them all right, even the acid/base questions! HA! I still rule!

Anyway, Im not sure what to do today. Should I go over the ochem chapters or write my essays? Hm. Or maybe start on the powerpoint? Well, I guess I will eat first. Better to decide on a full(er) stomach!

Now Im Done!

Hoo-ray!

ALL my pages are updated! I decided to take down facepaint too. I doubt I will put it back up. Anyway, I just spend a few HOURS cleaning out my hard drive of all the old webpage files and duplicates. What a task! Now, I have to download my page into a new directory, and I am on my way to starting fresh. I am very happy.

Today I have class, and I was planning on reading the amines chapter, but I guess I really wanted to finish this. I will get back to everything tomorrow. I have to write to my professors, ask this current one if she will write me a recommendation, and get cracking on those essays. Then I have another powerpoint presentation to do for bchem. Then I have to read the last two chapters in ochem. I have two finals left to do, and that is it!

I have a few weeks until my MCAT score is released so Im not thinking about that yet either.

So I have some time before class, better do some work!

Just Updating

And not studying too hard!

I guess this semester is going well for me. I already studied most of it already! I should re-read everything though. I think our final will be long.

During my time waiting for my stupid MCAT scores, Ive been updating my webpage. YES I HAVE I AM NOT PULLING YOUR LEG. Check it out! The only thing left to fix is the travelogue page. Im working on that now.

Once it is all updated, I can go back to updating normally! I think I will even have time now to make videos since TJ has a normal schedule! I have some videos Ive been wanting to do but had no time. I can also start carrying my camera again.

In the meantime, I have yet another PowerPoint project to do. This time on enzymes. She gave us specific questions to answer, etc. This is for my bchem class. In ochem, we have the same project on Lorenzo's Oil, but she said I can use the answers I already submitted for bchem as my answers for this. So I am almost done with everything! Just one more PowerPoint, and two finals! Hurrah!

I haven't started working on my personal statement yet. Im not sure if it is a necessary condition for getting a LOR from my selected profs, but we'll see. I wanted to finish my webpage first! I have a bout two months before I can hit the send button, and two or three weeks until they open up the 2012 application anyway. I already sent my math prof a huge envelope with everything he needs to know, so I don't think he needs my personal statement. I can just make a separate essay for my two ochem profs instead of the personal statement. Im going to ask my prof if she will write me a LOR next week. I hope she says yes! She is the last piece of this application puzzle. If she says no, I guess Im screwed for many schools. I also have to call my old managers for their letters. I should text one of them today!!!!

And I have to remember to go to lab today. There is only about a month left of these classes! YES!!!!!!

Don't Forget The Taxes

I actually have to make sure I do my taxes on time this year because we actually may owe money because we changed the deductions. So that is what I will be doing this weekend. Bummer.

Today I am going to try to finish up my webpage. I got the hang of frames yesterday! It was easier that I thought. I'm glad. I can't wait to have my page back again!

I also got the prompts for the AMCAS application:
Compose a personal essay explaining why you selected the field of medicine, what motivates you to learn more about medicine, any pertinent information about you not included elsewhere in the application, special hardships or experiences that have influenced your educational pursuits and commentary on significant fluctuations in your academic record not explained in the application. *500 characters *Spaces are characters *Extra spaces can indicate a new paragraph

For disadvantaged applicants: 1325 characters to explain why you should be considered a disadvantaged applicant

Work and activities: work experience, extra curriculars, awards, honors, publications. *Repeat experiences are listed once (Deans list is listed once, but say it happened multiple times *Include start and end dates *Needs a reference for each experience (phone number or email address) *700 characters per experience *Identify THREE experiences as "most meaningful" and one as most meaningful with description of 1325 characters. Explain why this is the most meaningful: consider the transformative nature, the impact you made while engaged in the activity, and the personal growth experienced.

So after I finish this webpage stuff, I will start considering what to write. I don't think I will post it though. This whole blog can suffice for that kind of information.

Updates!

I actually finished updating all I webpages I could without the picture program! AND I learned how to use the frames in Expression 4! So that means when I come back from class, I will buy the picture program and finish this webpage!! Im so excited! Everything will be back to normal! Yay!

I have SOOOOOO many pictures I never was able to upload because of (1)dialup (2)crappy html editor (3)not enough memory on my server (4)no skills to code a photo album or (5)no $$ to buy a photo album generator, if one existed that was good enough!

This is partly the reason I stopped carrying my camera around. I can't upload them anyway! Im glad this will be fixed soon. It's been years!!!!!

HOO RAY!

I just have to remember to go to class!

114?!?!?

Holy crap, I need to eat more! I lost too much weight. This is how much I weighed when I was 14. I was just about 5 feet though. Im two inches taller now. Maybe I better start lifting weights. Nothing (besides hamburgers) puts weight on me faster than lifting weights. I don't like being too skinny. It looks stupid because I don't have fine enough bones. I prefer 140, but that will have to wait. I also have to see what I score on the MCAT. If I score well enough to apply to Uniformed Services, I have to keep the weight off AND get back into shape, i.e., exercise. Well, I know that I was able to do regular man pushups. Those were much harder to do at 140.

Im so skinny I can join the Army! I dont want to though. If I apply to USU, I will take either the Navy or PHS. I prefer the Navy over the AF because they appreciate the short, flexible, and slightly fatter (buoyant, ha!) recruit. Well, we'll see. Im sure it's Caribbean school for me.

Ive been updating my webpage! Since this semester is a "little" easier than last semester (hurray!), I actually have time to do other stuff! So Ive updated the main pages, except the ones with lots of pictures because I still didn't buy that program yet. I will though. In a few days or so. I need to figure out how to work with Expression a bit more. I dont know how to work with frames yet. I want the photos to be on my page instead of its own page so I need to practice some with this new program. I decided Im not going to but that other program. Its just not good enough. I don't really understand it that well. And I hate programs that make you save it in their own format. Just let me save it as HTML! Geez how annoying! Well, once I figure out frames, I will buy the program and update some more. Unless I figure it out today! We'll see.

Oh yeah, and I have to start working on my personal statement essay thing. I was supposed to call one of my previous managers last night, but I figure I should write my statement first then call him. I also have to ask my professor if she will write one for me. I can even make her a packet! I hope she agrees. She is the final piece of the puzzle!!

The application doesn't open until next month, so I have a bit of time.

Beat

I am exhausted from doing so much yard work yesterday! I havent done labor in over a year. I just sit here all day and study. The yard really needed some help though. Its still not done. We have to dethatch and I have to get rid of what seems to be dead plants and maybe get some new ones.

My class was cancelled today so I just tried to finish up my PowerPoint project. Im almost done! I did it on the fate of amino acids in the body pretty much. I will post it when I finish.

I am still working on my webpage. Its been a nightmare. It would have been easier if stupid Yahoo SiteBuilder was compatible with Windows 7, but noooo. Whatever. I hope to get most of my pages up and running by tonight.

So back to my project!

So Tired!

Oh Lord! I am so tired and I dont know why. I thought I would be able to start on my PowerPoint project today, but I can barely do anything. And I have been off my diet a bit. I don't really care since you can see my ribs, something Im not fond of, but I have to look "slim" and "young" for those adcoms. I haven't been sparing my wrinkle regimen though. I scrubbed my face and moisturized three times today, once with a mask and twice with my special rosacea creme. Im almost done with that jar! Ive never finished a skin care product before. Ha! I guess that means I like it and/or it works...

Anyway, Im tired. I bet I will go to sleep earlier tonight. I would go to sleep now, but I don't want to get up at 0400. I think I will go to sleep in an hour and a half.

So Ive been working at figuring out this webpage nonsense. So far, Ive been using Web Easy Pro 8 and Expression Web 4 with some success. Ive figured out frames in Expression and Ive got some other things down in Web Easy, but I am not an expert in either. I may have to buy Web Easy, since I already have Expression. Then I also buy easy photo gallery or whatever its name is. These free ones online are kinda crappy.

Anyway, Im going to finish up whatever I was doing and go to bed! Goodnight!

What The Heck?

I forgot that stupid Yahoo Sitbuilder is NOT compatible with Windows 7! I spent all day organizing and downloading my site just to find out that I cant edit anything!

ARGH!

Now my site looks like crap and Im scrambling to find a new editor to use with Windows 7.
